Cedar & Clove
An invented halal Levantine grill in London.

The brief
The brief named a real halal certifier, a real street and a phone number. All three came out: the page says only “Fitzrovia, London”, and the booking form asks for a date, a time, the number of guests and a note, never a name or a phone number.
The one thing
A charcoal grill at night plays behind a low serif headline, and the menu sets each dish down as a plate wherever the pointer passes. The grill was rendered for the page in three.js; the twelve plates were painted by a script.
How it was made
- Astro and plain TypeScript, no animation library: 8.2 KB of script
- A procedural grill rendered with motion blur and depth of field
- Twelve plates painted with Canvas 2D
- A demo booking that makes no network requests
